LAB Pied Piper of Hamelin (DE)

Still looking for a special task for the autumn holidays? This is our suggestion for you: Take a trip to Hamelin and find some rats! The legend of the brothers Grimm tells a stranger appeared in Hamelin more than 725 years ago, who made the city famous all over the world - the Pied Piper. Now it's your turn! Embark on his paths and discover the city and the "Pied Piper" LAB (LocalAreaBadge). It will take you through the historic center and to a great vantage point overlooking the city and the Weserbergland (the Weser marshes).

We have placed 12 rats on the map for you - if you capture all of them, you will receive a special badge and 1,200 extra points. Thanner had the idea for this LAB which we have realized very gladly.

Perhaps you can meet with Thanner and/ or other friends at an event in Hamelin to collect this badge? Just try out the new Event-Race feature. In the event on the website and after the start of the event (start and end time will be queried while you are creating the event), you can find a list of all event participants - the new Event-Race-Ranking! During the event, this ranking will show who of you earned most points. An exciting affair - try it right out ...!

DE-LAB: The Graduation house tour

Do you want to discover something new that is actually quite old? Something that exists in many places in Germany, that is totally healthy, and is still barely known? Then check out our latest LAB (Local Area Badge): the graduation house tour! The graduation house tour leads you to places where you can find so-called graduation houses for salt extraction from brine using wooden scaffolding and fagots. Salt extraction itself has no purpose at the present time. Recreational and health aspects have been retained at the different locations. For example, asthmatics appreciate briny air and many clinics have settled in the vicinity of the scaffoldings, that are mostly found in health resorts.

You have to collect a minimum of 15 graduation house-icons (20 in total) to receive this special badge together with 1,500 extra points. Thanks to DocBrown13 who had the idea for this LAB, we love to support ideas like that. And again thanks to DocBrown13 for collecting all the information. Now it depends on you - have fun enjoying the fresh air...!

Nachtrag 25.

Lighthouses between Weser and Elbe

Along the North Sea coastline.... a new challenge is waiting for you! Starting today, you can find 32 lighthouses, that we have summarized to a LAB (Local Area badge) for you! GrafZahl75 had the idea - and we have the capabilities. The lighthouses extend from southern Bremerhaven to a little east of Cuxhaven. One is on the island Neuwerk and reachable only via mudflat hiking, boat or carriage ride - another one with just a little walk at low tide. All lighthouses are reachable over public roads. Collect 25 of 32 lighthouses and you will get the amazing badge. If you have collected all lighthouses, you can earn more than 4,000 points at all. The lighthouses will light your way in the dark, why don’t you deploy some Night Flags over there?

You also have such a great idea for your region? Then just write an email : info@flagstack.net

And for now, “nich lang schnacken“ (Low-German: stop talking) - Capture the flag...

Celebration continues

Celebration continues at our jubilee month - there are brand new features on our website to discover!

Right at the top of the deploy list you can find a pull-down menu of various options for sorting. What is your flag most found? Where did you deploy your first flags? Finally you can answer these questions to yourself and your friends...

At your deploy list you can find a replacement icon for green flags next to the known editing icon. At the displayed pull-down menu you can see the kind of flag types of your inventory incl. the number of your undeployed flags. Look at the graphical instructions and try the function directly... If it's easier for you to select a green flag at a specific location, you can select, edit and replace your green flags by using the map!

Click in your profile here: "Deploys"

Now you can see the new feature: sorting your deployed flags.

You can find the replacement button for green flags.

When you click on it, the following window will open ....

... and you can choose, by which of your inventory flags you want to replace this green flag…

...by clicking on "Save" the flag will be replaced...

...and the replaced green flag can now be found in your archive.

Have fun with the new features!
